Q: |
How do I know what level of online guitar lessons to choose? |
A: |
Our main courses come in five levels –
- Beginner Guitar Lessons
- Beginner/Intermediate Guitar Lessons
- Intermediate Guitar Lessons
- Intermediate/Advanced Guitar Lessons
- Advanced Guitar Lessons
Place yourself in one of these groups. If in doubt, place yourself at the highest level you think you can handle. We want your guitar lessons to be challenging! If the course you choose turns out to be too difficult, write us a note (click SUPPORT on the toolbar) and we'll switch you down into a level of guitar lessons you can handle. |

Q: |
I'm a beginner. Are your STAR GUITAR LESSONS too advanced for me? |
A: |
Probably not! If you want to learn from ace guitar teachers like Larry Carlton and Jeff Baxter, give their STAR GUITAR LESSONS a try. While there will be tips and techniques which are too advanced for you now, you'll remember them for the future. And any course you buy is good for a full year – longer if you ask us to extend it.
We find the ideas in STAR GUITAR LESSONS go beyond mere 'play the notes' guitar instruction into deeper musical ideas, so they're valuable to guitar players with any level of skill. |

Q: |
Is VIDEOGUITARLESSONS.COM cheaper than in-person guitar lessons? |
A: |
Yes! VIDEOGUITARLESSONS.COM is far less expensive that studio guitar lessons. A typical weekly guitar lesson in person costs about $20-25 and up. For that much you can get an entire COURSE (30-40 lessons) on our website. Consider in-person lessons at $100 per month (four lessons); for $25 a month you can buy our ALL ACCESS PASS and take unlimited lessons. If you have multiple students in your family, the savings are even greater! |

Q: |
Why is VIDEOGUITARLESSONS.COM better than in-person guitar lessons? |
A: |
CONVENIENCE: You have to drive or travel to in-person guitar lessons at a fixed time each week. You have to cancel or re-schedule if you can't make your appointment. At VIDEOGUITARLESSONS.COM, we're right in your home 24 hours a day. You work us into your busy schedule and way that suits you. The travel/gas savings are great too!
FLEXIBILITY: Have a lot of time this week? Take two, three, or four lessons. Are you in a busy stretch, or going out of town? Didn't get to practice much? Skip a lesson – no problem. Try that with an in-person guitar teacher.
CUSTOMIZED GUITAR LESSONS: You pick your style and level of guitar lessons with VIDEOGUITARLESSONS.COM. With an in-person teacher you're often at the mercy of his/her strengths and preferences.
STAR TEACHERS! Where else can you take guitar lessons from teachers like jazz giant Larry Carlton? Bass gurus Al Baca and Alphonso Johnson? Steely Dan's Jeff 'Skunk' Baxter? The stars shine at VIDEOGUITARLESSONS.COM! |

Q: |
I can't read music. Will online guitar lessons work for me? |
A: |
Sure. Many guitarists do not read music at all. Most read tablature, a special form of music notation just for learning songs on guitar (and bass). We include tablature along with the videos on almost all of our online guitar lessons. And we have a special course on Reading Music Notation for Guitarists, taught by John Heussenstamm. Maybe you've always wanted to learn to read music, or maybe you need to hone your skills for sessions. Give John's Reading Music Course a try! If you're an All Access Pass member – you already have it! |
